Houston Rockets Will Introduce Russell Westbrook Today At Toyota Center

It is official Houston, Russell Westbrook will be officially introduced as a Houston Rocket today completing an amazing blockbuster trade between the Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder in which the Rockets gave up Chris Paul and two first-round picks for 2024 and 2026. This was quite a tremendous deal for the Houston Rockets as they will reunite former teammates James Harden and Russell Westbrook whom reached the NBA Finals together back in 2012 with the Oklahoma City Thunder eventually falling to the Miami Heat in 5 games.

With the 2017 MVP Westbrook leading the fast break and creating shots for the 2018 MVP James Harden in Mike D’Antoni’s offensive-friendly system, the Houston Rockets should boast one of the best offensive attacks in recent NBA history perhaps reminiscent of D’Antoni’s great Phoenix Suns teams in the mid-2000’s. Not only is Russell Westbrook a dynamic player and someone we believe will fit in perfectly with the current Rockets’ roster, but his heart and intensity for the game are undeniably evident in everything he does on the court, perhaps making him the most passionate player in the NBA.

Tenacious, warrior-like, and emotional, Westbrook plays with his heart on his sleeve and will surely be a fan-favorite at the Toyota Center for many years to come. Westbrook has broken numerous NBA records and has averaged a triple-double for the last 3 years in a row completely dominating the NBA with his quickness, athleticism, intelligence, and effort. This is a player who has Championship-material and effort manifested in everything he does, and the 8-time All-Star is coming to Houston with big expectations for himself and Houston fans.

We believe the Houston Rockets made the best possible move they could this off-season by trading away Chris Paul’s hefty contract as the 34-year old veteran was scheduled to make $38.5 million for the upcoming season. Also, with the acquisition of Westbrook, the Rockets will have a substantial upgrade with respect to the back-court adding the most athletic and dominant point guard since Magic Johnson. We believe that the Rockets will win the NBA finals within the next 2-3 years with the leadership of Russell Westbrook and James Harden as well as a seasoned squad of veterans and role players including Eric Gordon, Clint Capela, P.J. Tucker, Tyson Chandler, Nene, Gerald Green, Kenneth Faried, Iman Shumpert, Austin Rivers, and Daniel House.

We really cannot wait until the 2018-2019 season tips off this October! What do you think Houston, are the Rockets the favorite to win the NBA Western Conference and make their first visit to the NBA Finals since the 1995 championship team?
