1. Texans' Home Preseason Game-  Scheduled for 7pm on Saturday 08/17 at NRG Stadium 


The Texans host their first preseason game of the season on August 17th. 2. Backstreet Boys Concert- Scheduled for 8pm on Saturday 08/31 at the Toyota Center


The 8-time Grammy nominated band Backstreet Boys will be back in H-town for the first time in 18 years as part of their current "DNA Arena Tour"  coming to Houston on August 31st. This will be an amazing experience for all old-school Backstreet Boys fans looking to relive the good old times including their hit song "I want It That Way"as well as some of the band's newest hits from their recent album DNA. 3. Ted Cruz- Scheduled for 7pm-8:15pm on Thursday 08/29 at The Ballroom at Bayou Place (500 Texas Avenue, Houston, TX 77002)


Senator of Texas since 2013, Ted Cruz visits Houston later this month on August 29th to discuss foreign policy and a wide range of immigration issues among debate in current American politics. Cruz, who refers to himself as the "Non-interventionist Hawk" will discuss issues including relations with North Korea and Russia, current immigration policies/tactics administered by the Trump White House, and legislation to take action against some of our country's biggest international threats. 5. Murder on Orient Express- Scheduled for 7:30pm from 07/29-08/25 at the Alley Theatre 


Agatha Christie's plot-twisting thriller novel "The Murder on the Orient Express" comes to Houston's Theatre District on a daily basis running through August 25th. This will be a can't miss showcase for all mystery/crime novel lovers in Houston. 10. History Through Cinema- Scheduled to run every second Wednesday in August at the Institute of Hispanic Culture- Houston (3315 Sul Ross St. Houston, TX 77098)


Explore Spanish/Latino culture through a series of films at the Institute of Hispanic Culture offered every second Wednesday (08/14 and 08/28) of the month. This is a wonderful event for people of all ages whom want to learn more about Hispanic roots, Hispanic culture, and Hispanic history both in Texas and internationally. This is also a really cool event for people learning the Spanish language and want to learn more about Spanish history in Texas. The movies will include English subtitles and free popcorn for all guests. Admission is free.
